As the tallest all-residential building west of the Mississippi River, there is literally nothing to impede upon the sweeping views from the top of The Austonian downtown luxury condominiums. At 56 floors, it is the perfect vantage point for bird’s eye views of downtown Austin, Lady Bird Lake and the Texas Hill Country, and all of Austin’s landmarks are visible from the top – from the red roofs of St. Edward’s University, to the University of Texas Tower and the Texas State Capitol. The sightline stretches approximately 20 miles in every direction, offering views of things as far from Austin as a concrete plant all the way down in Kyle. In fact, The Austonian is visible from four counties in Central Texas: Bastrop, Hays, Travis and Williamson.
Two expert luxury design firms, Greer Interior Design and Ryan Street & Associates, have been hard at work over the past year finalizing the plans, details and finishes of a number of custom units near the top of The Austonian luxury condominiums. These units exemplify the emphasis that The Austonian places on customization and provide residents with an unparalleled living experience. The first of the new model units from Greer Interior Design will be available for prospective Austonian residents to see and experience in the building in February.
Another year has come and gone, and another edition of the Austin American Statesman’s 50 Best Restaurants in Austin has been published this week. Congress and Second Bar + Kitchen, at the base of The Austonian downtown luxury condominiums, were both included on the list, at numbers four and twenty-six, respectively.
As the tallest building in the city, located in the midst of all the activity of downtown Austin and Lady Bird Lake, The Austonian is the perfect vantage point for capturing the beauty and happenings of the surrounding area. During this month’s Fun Fun Fun Fest, local photographer Nick Simonite did some time-lapse photography from the upper floors of the building in order to capture the hustle and bustle of the music festival below. Here are some of the breathtaking images from the shoot.
Jennifer Greer-Hartman and Lindsay Maki of Greer Interiors have worked on the design of public spaces, model homes and select private residences at The Austonian downtown luxury condominiums since the building’s inception. Now, they’re embarking upon a new phase of work, as they develop and execute new floor plans and custom interior design palettes for three floors of the building. For this new phase of development, the two design mavens have drawn from years of high rise interior design experience – gained in Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco and New York City – to create completely custom residences for The Austonian and the Austin luxury marketplace.
