Since its arrival in 2010, The Austonian instantly became a recognizable icon in the Austin skyline; and as downtown Austin continues to grow and change, The Austonian maintains its presence as the tallest, most luxurious and exclusive all residential building in the city. As the first luxury high-rise in Austin, The Austonian has established a benchmark for upscale living that is yet to be matched. With spellbinding views, exceptional service and unparalleled exclusivity, The Austonian provides its residents with an experience of downtown Austin that is unlike any other, with more shared amenity square footages per residence than any other building in the city.
Over the past decade, downtown Austin has grown significantly, thanks to overall population growth and the strategic efforts of the City of Austin and the Downtown Austin Alliance. Earlier this month, the Downtown Austin Alliance (DAA), which advocates for ongoing change and improvement to the downtown Austin area, released their 2014 Annual Report, which offers a look at what developments have been made in the past year as well as a look at what is yet to come.
Over the past year, The Austonian has begun a new phase of construction and interior design on the upper floors of the building, spearheaded by Austin-based luxury design firms GREER Interior Design and Ryan Street & Associates. This month, Austin HOME takes a look at three of these newly finished units from GREER Interior Design in the magazine’s newly released Summer issue.
The Austonian was featured in this month’s Austin Fit magazine, as the location for a beautiful early morning photo shoot for the magazine’s cover story. The story profiles former University of Texas and NFL football player Ricky Williams, focusing on his football career, his current job as the University of Incarnate Word’s football coach, and the way that he has incorporated yoga into his workout regime and his life.
The Austonian knows that pets are a part of the family, and they deserve as much attention and TLC as the rest of us. That’s why The Austonian has created a number of pet-specific amenities for residents and their four-legged friends. And, since many homeowners come to The Austonian from a suburban environment, the developer and The Austonian management team has sought to make owning a pet in the luxury high-rise as effortless and convenient as possible.
Last Wednesday, The Austonian downtown luxury condominiums was recognized by the Austin chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) at the 2012 ULI Austin Development of Distinction Awards. The Austonian won an award in the category of “New Development: Residential,” which recognizes one real estate development project completed in Austin within the last 5 years.
In today’s Austin Chronicle, The Austonian won two “Best Of” categories, as selected by readers and voters of Austin. These categories include Best Downtown View, and the Best New Building in the Past Five Years. The Austonian is the tallest all residential building west of the Mississippi, and even though most people don’t get a chance to take a peek inside the residential building, we have become an integral part of the downtown Austin skyline.
The Austonian was recently featured in the January/February issue of the Robb Report’s Exceptional Properties magazine, in an article about second homes in college towns.
Last month, The Austonian won a national construction award from McGraw-Hill Construction. The Austonian is the only award-winning project from Texas. A total of 21 national winners were selected.
