Over the past year, The Austonian has begun a new phase of construction and interior design on the upper floors of the building, spearheaded by Austin-based luxury design firms GREER Interior Design and Ryan Street & Associates. This month, Austin HOME takes a look at three of these newly finished units from GREER Interior Design in the magazine’s newly released Summer issue.
The article about The Austonian’s new designed interiors addresses the background and The Austonian’s motivation for creating these new interiors, and chronicles Jennifer Hartman and Lindsay Maki’s design process and inspiration for these units. They’ve developed four distinct palettes or design styles for this project, which are motivated by the different “kinds” of people they’ve seen attracted to this kind of urban, luxury product.
As Hartman put it in the article: “It’s almost like we created four imaginary clients. We broke it down: there’s a more modern buyer; a more traditional buyer; someone who wants more of a show piece and desires something more dramatic and unique; then someone who maybe appreciates an artisan, crafted feel. For each palette, we thought, what does this person want to see?”
