Newly Featured Properties at The Austonian
Since the inception of The Austonian high-rise luxury tower, model homes have offered prospective homeowners a glimpse of what it's like to live high above Austin in a downtown condo. In the pursuit of Texan-style luxury interiors, local and regional designers have furnished The Austonian sales models. Today, two of four homes listed for sale at The Austonian include finishing touches by Austin-based designer Sandy Senter, and Austin-based interior design firm Laura Britt Design. High above the city, these homes offer comfortable luxury, which is a signature style of The Austonian.
Newly-featured properties on the 23rd and 26th floors incorporate design by Sandy Senter, who began his career working as a liaison to the State Preservation Board for the late Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock. During a project involving the restoration of the Texas State Capitol, Mr. Senter realized his passion for design and decided to pursue a career in design. Mr. Senter's work at The Austonian has included past sales models, and today encompasses the interiors of the 23rd-floor and 26th-floor properties which have lake and hill country views. The space incorporates furniture selected by Senter, as well as original works by local artists and design showrooms. The 23rd-floor property is the largest two bedroom residence below the 41st floor. Photos and information about the 23rd-floor and 26th-floor property are available.
On the 37th floor, a home with space planning by Sloane Gate Design offers a gracious place for living and entertaining. The home, which includes his-and-her bathrooms and dressing room, has an open kitchen, dining and living area with sweeping views to the west and south of The Austonian. Laura Britt Design, the firm selected to assist all residents with interior selections, lent their interior design savvy to the space in the form of furnishings, accessories and art. The model home incorporates Vervano, Ms. Britt's personally designed line of sustainable, eco-conscious and locally produced furniture, as well as artwork by Central Texas residents. Photos and information about this home is available here.
Laura Britt Design has consulted with clients on standard finish selections from the beginning of the project. Additionally, the Laura Britt Design team has created several custom homes for private residents of The Austonian. With a background rooted in interior design and sustainable architectural design, Laura Britt focuses on integrating utility and design aesthetic.
On the upper floors of The Austonian, many residents have opted to work with architects and interior designers to create custom homes that reflect their individual styles. High above Austin on the 43rd floor, an unfinished home awaits a homeowner's personal touch and style. The 2,898-square-foot home includes three bedrooms and four bathrooms with a powder room. Expansive views of the Texas State Capitol, the Frost Bank tower and the UT Tower can be enjoyed from the home and its 350-square-foot balcony. Read more about this custom home at The Austonian here.
The glass-encased elliptical tower of The Austonian affords sweeping views of the city from every residence in the building. These views provide a breathtaking backdrop for local designers' work, and the furnishings they source from local purveyors including David Alan Rugs and Stockton Hicks Laffey. "The Austonian has the best downtown views – hands down. It's one of my favorite aspects of the building," said Mr. Senter. "It allows me to focus on the finishes."
