At The Austonian, a resident’s home encompasses much more than the typical bedroom, living room and kitchen; it extends to the luxe amenity spaces located on the 55th, 56th and 10th floors of the building. From the Fitness Center, to the Theater, to the 10th-floor Lonestar Bar, many places throughout the building are available for residents to enjoy, in addition to their individual homes. During the warm summer months, The Lawn is a favorite amenity of residents, as it offers a peaceful and refreshing place to relax and socialize above the bustling activity of downtown Austin.
Designed by landscape architecture firm TBG Partners, the 12,000 square-foot Lawn was designed to be a centralized, community area where residents can lounge, swim and entertain. The 10th-floor outdoor amenity wraps around the building and is comprised of a series of outdoor spaces. The Lawn is a sustainable and serene space with a reflecting pond that surrounds three beautiful stainless steel sculptures from Austin artist Shawn Smith, and 65 types of low-water and native plants that are irrigated with reclaimed water from the building’s cooling system.
The eastern side of The Lawn, which runs along Congress Avenue, features a 75-foot lap pool – the perfect place to cool off in the middle of Central Texas summers, with breathtaking views of the Texas State Capitol and Lady Bird Lake.
The saltwater pool has eight foaming bubble fountains and an in-water seating area, and is complimented by a nearby saltwater spa.
On the pool’s north and south ends, eight luxury cabanas, with comfortable seating and privacy curtains provide a shaded oasis on The Lawn. An outdoor kitchen and outdoor fireplaces offer additional gathering spaces as well, and residents can dine al fresco in the cabanas or around the outdoor kitchen.
On the west side of the building is a 600-square foot dog park where residents can take out their dogs and socialize with other homeowners and pets who live in the luxury high rise. The dog park features Synlawn synthetic grass and a complete draining system. The pet park is adjacent to a 10th-floor pet grooming center within the building.
For residents of The Austonian, The Lawn is much more than a backyard; it’s a sustainable green space that is a community gathering area, an extended kitchen and an outdoor oasis.
