This weekend the 2ND Street District will host its second annual White Linen Night. The ticketed block party occurs this Saturday, August 2nd from 6-9pm and will feature bites from some of the 2nd Street District’s best restaurants, including The Bonneville, Cru, Malaga, and many more. Tickets are $25 and will also include specific wine parings from Spicewood Vineyards, Becker Vineyards, Terlato Wines, and Hess Vineyards. All proceeds from the event benefit the Austin Food & Wine Alliance, a local nonprofit that seeks to raise awareness and foster innovation within the Central Texas culinary community.
Based on the original White Linen concept straight from New Orleans, this event offers attendees a chance to get out and involved in the community during the heat of summer. Uniting the creative and culinary aspects of the 2ND Street District, the evening will celebrate the vibrant downtown Austin community. Suggested dress code is summer whites.
In addition to the block party, non-ticketed events will be held throughout the district, including in-store events, “White Linen Night” sales, and an unveiling of public art that will be on display over the next year. VIP tickets can be purchased for an additional $25 dollars and grant access to an exclusive after party the TRACE patio. The after party will feature a live DJ, a commemorative wine glass of White Linen Sangria, and dessert bites from Chef Angel Begaye.
Tickets are available online. For more information, visit 2ND Street District’s website. The event is located just a short walk from the Austonian.
