The Waller Creek Conservancy Pop-Up Picnic is back – this Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. in Palm Park, on the corner of I-35 and 3rd Street. Attendees of the community-wide picnic and benefit for the Waller Creek Conservancy can enjoy a beautiful night on the banks of Waller Creek, enjoying live music, and curated picnic baskets from some of the top restaurants and food purveyors in Austin.
Basket purchases for the picnic benefit the Waller Creek Conservancy, whose mission is to preserve and revitalize the Waller Creek area by building a series of parks and walking trails along the 1.5-mile stretch of land that winds through the eastern part of downtown Austin. Basket prices range from $30 to $150 and are available online at WallerCreekPicnic.org. They can also be purchased the day of the picnic. A few restaurant baskets have already sold out – but there are some still available from Home Slice, Jeffrey’s, Justine’s, Sway and a few establishments that have yet to open their doors in town – Launderette and Sawyer & Co.
If none of the curated baskets strike your fancy, though, attendees are welcome to bring their own food to enjoy. Beer, wine and sangria are available to purchase on site as well. So, if you’d like to spend your Saturday night out in nature, enjoying the future of Waller Creek with your friends, family, great food and surprise musical performances - head out to Palm Park for the Pop-Up Picnic, just 15 minutes walking distance from The Austonian
